Mark Dickinson

Founder and Managing Partner

With over 25 years of successful business development, capital markets and corporate finance experience, Mark has raised in excess of $20Bn in debt and equity capital in the energy and technology sectors in Canada, US and Europe. Mark began his career as a banker in “the Valley” with Scotia Capital. Shortly after his return to Canada, he was recruited to join Filogix, a private fin-tech start-up and successfully co-led their financial institutions group. Thereafter, he returned to banking and held increasingly senior positions in the capital markets teams of a global bank (BNP Paribas), a Canadian resource and technology boutique (Paradigm Capital) and one of Canada’s largest financial institutions (Desjardins). While at Desjardins, he led the institution’s energy franchise serving as Managing Director, Head of Energy Sales. Mark served as a member of the Board of Directors of Briko Energy until its sale to Journey Energy in 2021. Most recently, Mark was a principal at a merchant bank in Toronto.

Mark earned a B.A. (High Honours) from Carleton University and an M.B.A. (Finance) from the Schulich School of Business at York University.


Jon Ein

Advisor

Jon is a private equity and growth investor through Foundry Capital, a firm he owns and runs with Gary Mueller. Previously based in Paris, Foundry has completed over $2 billion in transactions in different sectors, with a traditional focus on deep value opportunities.  He was recently a Senior Advisor to Apollo Global Management, an alternative asset manager with approximately $500 billion of AUM.

Jon is currently Chairman of Marchay, and on the Board of Infinite Blue, Wurk and Virtru.

Jon is originally from Chevy Chase, MD. He earned a B.A. magna cum laude at the Honors College at the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from Harvard University.

Geoff Spidle

Advisor

Geoff is President and managing partner at Barometer Capital Partners in Toronto . He is responsible for Barometer’s individual, institutional and family office investors. He works closely with the executive team to set overall business strategy and new product development. He also focuses on the firm’s alternative investment strategies.

Prior to Barometer, Geoff was co-founder and President of Roundtable Capital Partners in Toronto for 14 years. He is currently the Chair of the Appleby College Foundation in Oakville and member of the school’s Board of Governor’s. He is a graduate of Huron University in London and the Executive Development program of McGill University in Montreal.

Lorne Sugarman

Advisor

Lorne is a senior executive with diverse experience. He has direct C-level operating experience and is a seasoned investment banker and principal investor.

Lorne is CEO and Director of the Metaverse Group. Prior to this, he was the CEO of Wellpoint Health Services. Over nine years, he grew that business to over 250 employees and completed and integrated seven acquisitions. The Company was sold to CloudMD (TSX-V: DOC) in 2021.

Lorne has spent over twenty years in advisory services with more than fifteen of those years at GMP Securities. He served as Managing Director / Head of Technology Group at GMP Securities. Most recently, he served as a Principal at KES7 Capital Inc. Lorne started his career with Deloitte Consulting and Deloitte & Touche providing advice to clients in North America.


Lorne earned a B.A. from Western University and an M.B.A. from the Rotman School at the University of Toronto.
